It depends on what you're looking for, but I don't agree that you can call AK as 'rubbish' by any yardstick. It does what it is supposed to do - be an animal park - very well. The few rides are mere window dressings put on for those who expect them everywhere in and around Orlando, with the possible exception of the bathroom. AK is clean, well organised and the staff are friendly. In contrast, we were very disppointed with BG on our last visit in 2001; the park was dirty with indifferent staff and signs of being unkempt. Just because it has many big rides does not automatically make it a 'better' park than AK.

I have heard that the upkeep of BG has improved in the last couple of years - no doubt due to competition from AK. But for us, AK still wins.

Have to say Busch Gardens gets our vote. We visit this park at least twice every visit and we go 4 times a year. Have always found there to be something for us all to enjoy and as for Sheikra it looks awesome and certainly more than a beefed up Oblivion!
They have made a number of improvements over the last couple of years and the "themes" are better than ever.

We find that although it may not have the magic of Disney it always feels more relaxed a day for us.

Have fun which ever park you choose.

Though we did not visit BG in 2004, I have heard that the park (and the entire Gulf Coast area) is undergoing major facelifts. But When we did go to BG in 2001, it really was so poor that almost everyone in the party in 2004 voted to cancel it. Though I like AK better, I have nothing against BG and hope that it does well. In fact it is a good centerpiece attraction for those wishing to go to the Gulf Coast on its own (as I hope to do this October, if I get leave).

BG for us too. We went in January on a Friday and it was virtually empty (only 3000 people apparently[msnwink]) and there was no queing at all.
AK is alright but the only ride we go there for is the Kali Rapids as this is Sams favorite. Would not spend a whole day there.
