    Space Launch-MAY 15th.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER -- NASA set the date for its first shuttle launch since the Columbia disaster two years ago,

Officials said they are looking to launch shuttle Discovery on May 15.

Space agency official William Readdy said NASA is also hoping to launch shuttle Atlantis on July 12.

Launch director Mike Leinbach expressed optimism that NASA will meet the May 15 date for America's return to manned space flights.

Atlantis is being prepared to take off 30 days after Discovery as a back up in case of emergency, I've been told.

Apparently there is a good chance of 15th May being met for Discovery provided there are no major hiccups.

It says on the NASA website STS-114 launch window May 12 - June 3 and STS-121 launch window July 12 - Aug 3. It does not specify any dates and would this far in advance so the papaers are speculating.
