Clearwater without a doubt, if you like Blackpool you will like Daytona.

We have been to clearwater previously and loved it, such a nice beach. Thought we would have a change this time and went to Daytona beach, what a disappointment. I know it was off season January but so tacky and dirty, the sand on the beach was all oily and the pier well it should be demolished. Anyone that goes on the cable cars or the tower ride on the pier god help them. Pretty much a bikers place nearly every shop selling leather and biker gear. We stayed about an hour then went to Daytona race track and spent the rest of the day there.
Only my opinion others my like it, Blackpool is tacky I live here and wish I was somewhere else, but at least you can spend the day doing something in Blackpool.

The big novelty for me at Daytona was driving along the beach.
Once we did that I wished I was in Clearwater.
It's so lovely there-so pretty.
Clearwater wins hands down for me-and after last year-no trip would be complete without a trip on the big yellow speedboat.
Dolphins came right up and jumped through the boat's wake -just 5 feet away.
Fantastic!

Clearwater for me too, I love the harbour area as well as the beach, and all the little hotels with boats docks. You see more wildliife there as well, and it tends to be warmer on that coast.
I have only been to Daytona once, and did enjoy our time on the beach. We didn't go around so can't compare really, but I didn't get a Blackpool feeling? It's certainly nicer than there.
Tyson, go to both if you can and compare for yourself, and all the other places too!!!
I would also say Clearwater Beach without hesitation. It is cleaner, quieter and more relaxing. Daytona is too touristy and noisy; you have a greater risk of having dodgy characters hanging about. When we went to Daytona some years ago, there was a noisy group of youngsters that looked like they were a biker's gang - they probably were.
