Has anyone been to Cypress Gardens since it opened recently?
Has anyone been in the past, and is it worth spending a day there?
Their website is still under construction,so information and photos are a little thin on the ground.
Thanks.
John.

I have seen the old Cypress Gardens as it used to be before it closed. Then it was a splendid alternative to the big parks and one could spend a relatively quiet day in its gardens, looking at the flora, Belles and the waterski show. The opening of the new CG was affected by last autumn's hurricanes, but it has opened since. I understand that there are a lot of rides now, but as far as I know, no waterski show yet. Some of the old gardens remain.

I was there on Tues Feb 1st 2005 and I thought it was a fabulous day out.
We had a gorgeous sunny day-not too hot considering most of it is outdoors and I'm really impressed at how the new owner has ploughed so much money into it.
There's a new car park with a little train and a new entrance.
Once inside-you are deposited near the food and shops so good idea to stock up when you get in.
They have kept the eye in the sky-now called sunshine sky adventure. The butterflies are there and so is the ski show. I also think the animals are there-but we must have by passed them
The gardens are pretty much the same-but I think they have had to re-stock. The wedding gazebo is also there.
Several new things were closed-but they are hoping to have them opened in the spring.
Magnolia Mansion is supposed to be opened as a restaurant and the boat ride is supposed to be coming back
There were a couple of slapstick like shows aimed at the kiddies and lots of new rides-coasters and kiddies.
There was a southern belle and thye are hoping to bring back the dressing up as a southern belle
It's only $30 with another day free for 6 days-so i thought it was good value.
Be warned the signs are missing on the road and I went 14 miles out of my way.
When coming from the 192-you need to turn off the 27 before Eagle Ridge mall.
The road is possible the 540 or 544-the Cypress garden sign is missing in both directions.
Have a great day-we did.

Thanks for the detailed answers.
Told me everything i need to know and some
John.
We were there in Dec. It was $26 for a 2 day pass. They are obviously increasing the price as they open the attractions. The animal walk is on your right as you go in and will be easy to miss. When we were there is wasn't yet open.
The living water statue in the park was special and the ribs we had for lunch were memorably finger lickin' good.
We used to enjoy this park and it was great to see it up and running again.
Never managed to visit before it closed down, must get around to visiting now it has reopened, sounds interesting.[msnsmile2]

Hope the weather is good tomorrow. We are thinking of using the second day pass-as tomorrow is the last day of it's use and i think there may be some rides my husband can sit on with my toddler grandson.
If we go-I'll let you know how we get on.

Looks like the new version of CG it trying to be a 'bits of everything' park, with rides, gardens, animals etc. Hope it works for them. Any news on whether the waterski show is coming back?
