Portable DVD Player

Does anybody know if I would be able to use my portable DVD Player on my flight to Florida

I know Aer Lingus specifically do not allow them but I've seen them being used on Virgin. It seems to depend on the airline you are travelling with.

We have used them on US airways, American and BMI without any problems. You cannot use them during take off or landings though.

We used ours on Virgin last November and there was no problem!!

It kept our 3 year old happy for a couple of hours watching his favourite film!!!!

yes we were allowed on virgin in Dec 04, obviously have to turn off we were told on take off landing and if the captain puts seatbelt signs on! (i think)
