You can check the M&S rate through their website also.

I always use M&S for currency (although I work for the bank) todays rate is $1.826. If you order £500.00 or more online before 1300hrs it will be delivered the next day free of charge. There is a delivery charge for amounts under £500.00. If you are an account holder you can charge it to your card and you don't have to pay for it until the bill comes, which in some cases could be up to 55 days.
They are the only credit card company that offers you a cash advance on foreign currency free.

The following is for 'Ringwood' only or anyone else that lives near Bournemouth.

Bournemouth town centre has a Bureau-De-change but according to the website there isn't one at Castlepoint. I always visit Castlepoint every time I visit Bournemouth, have to as its on the way in or the way out. I tell family we have to pass it one way or the other so we may as well stop, thats my excuse.

The good news is my daughter has just been offered 2 places at Bournemouth University so I will be visiting Castlepoint at lot more from September onwards.

Yes, anyone can order TC's from them.

I think the point Bernie was trying to make is that you can use your &more card (if you have one) and not pay any interest like you do with cash transactions on other credit cards.

Depends on how much you want to change.

We have used a couple of good ones. One is online FX https://www.onlinefx.co.uk/fx/Stores...SID=136&DID=1# and the other is on the Saga web site no you don't have to be over 50 to use it Both don't charge commision and both deliver next day although Online fx in the past have given free postage but now it appears that they charge £3.95.

Thanks for all the advice, have both Nationwide account and M&S card so sounds good.

Bernie - I love Castlepoint too, especially as they don't charge for parking and I do stay there for ages. Some days I take the children to school and go straight over to Castlepoint and don't leave until it is time to collect them again, what a tough life I lead!!!!

Speaking of foreign currency, whom does the current climate in exchange rates favour more? Us using GBP or the EURO-peans in terms of relative expenses? Perhaps the Irish forum members might have an idea.
