Hi - my apologies. Submitted a posting before introducing myself!
Paul & Kate, married with two boys (11 & 4), all hoping to relocate to Florida in the not too far distant future. Also looking forward to getting to know a few more people through this forum which has proved immensely valuable not just for the wide range of information available, but also for the reality-check that the FL residents can also provide...

How exciting that you are hoping to relocate to Florida. Are you planning on buying a business?

That was the original plan, until I researched it thoroughly and realised that the only qualifying businesses that I could afford were so far away from my field of experience that it would probably have been a quick route to bankruptcy!
Teaching remains a possibility - I have a developing relationship with a FL college, but there may be an issue with qualifications (I've yet to get a definitive ruling on this).
The final (and currently most promising) possibility is through EB2, especially if a potential and rather wonderful job opportunity should become a reality.
Unfortunately, we're having to 'wait and see' at the moment. We are, however, a very determined family...and from what I can see, we're going to have to be!

You should be able to make friends with quite a few people on here!
There are plenty of members that wish they had the same goal as you.

Moving to Florida

I would love to, but Diane is a little scared of the idea!

We to have plans to relocate and have various options from buying a business, to having specialist skills and quals and hoping that Bill Gates will give me a job!!!!! Teaching is one of the positive careers as is nursing. Good luck!
