To heat a pool by 10F is a great deal in my book.
You really need a blanket if you have solar panels as you can lose nearly all the heat you gain during the day. In fact it is a good idea to have a blanket whatever type of heating you have.

Have to agree with both points. If it is a 10f increase as we hope it is that's actually a decent amount in pool heat terms.
Also you need a blanket for all types of pool heating or you're just thowing the heat away at night.
