    visa question

    Hi guys

    looks like the job is there

    just a quick question, if lorna wants to work does she need a visa as well??

    or not because i have one??

    Yes she does......we would need to know what visa you have to know if she can work......I could not work for 2 years......the same with my daughter.....hubby had a H1B.....

    Depends what visa she is on, she cant if you are getting a HIB as Chrizzy says. As an E or L dependant spouse, she can apply for an EAD to enable her to work but they are taking months and months to come through. So no, in the immediate future, she is a homemaker as they say here.

    From what my immigration attorney in the US has told me - as far as the EAD was concerned - if you filed on day 1 of arriving in the US, then regardless of them taking 90 days or 6 months in issuing the EAD, after 90 days of filing for the EAD you are allowed to walk into any job, legally allowed to work.

    That's my understanding anyway as far as the E/L dependants are concerned - i may be wrong.
