I also caught just a bit of this programme. I think it was in the Winter Park area. Did'nt the whole area look lovely though. Chloe

I do think the air boats are great however, a wonderful escape from the theme parks is the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour. This tour has been run by the same family for decades and takes you round the lakeland area of Winter Park, interconnected by narrow canals, past the homes of the rich and famous! A great opportunity to relax, see how the other half lives and, if you're lucky, catch some of the local wildlife napping on the shoreline. Highly recommended!

We are going to go on this in October, it looks great. Like to see how the other half live.
We have done the Boggy Creek airboats and the airboats you drive yourself(on the 192 just past Walmart). We enjoyed both but maybe we are just plain unlucky never so much as caught a glimpse of a gator. Solved this by going to gatorland where they have absolutely loads.

Good for your Mum Blott! My mum is 83 and I wouldn't get her on the plane let alone an airboat ride![msnoo]<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by blott
Boggy Creek Airboats are my Mum's favourite and she particularly likes them when they go fast. She's 83 and a secret thrill seeker...
Actually, they are great - the guides are very knowledgeable about the wildlife (and know exactly where to find it) so hopefully you'll see plenty at close quarters. Last time we went we were within about 10 feet of a mother gator and her babies near their nest and some great photo opportunities!
A lot of the guides also have a mean sense of humour and will try and get at least one passenger with some spray!
