Well done Paula and Mizzy [clap]
Hope your day gets better Liesa [grouphug]
Twiglet, Mizzy or Fiona are the best people to ask about 'syns' etc[msnwink]
I am still reading all the mags that Mizzy sent me plus I got the mew March issue and they have so many lovely recipes to try I can't wait to do it properly.
Mizzy there is a class local to me on Tuesday morning at 10 so I will be there the week after half term, or if hubby is home this Tuesday coming Tuesday I could join then[msnwink]
I know I am not eating enough of the right stuff yet but after hearing about your success Mizzy I am determined to do it 100%[msnwink]
Hiya everyone, it's very serious in here, everyone seems very determined so well done everyone!
I think I lost a few pounds in Barcelona, the food was terrible everywhere we went which was a shame, and surprising as it was wonderful last time.
I must start weighing myself, I really don't know if I'm doing well or not.[msneek]
Get on those scales Paul and get the tape measure out[msnwink] It has to be done!![msnwink][msnwink]
Shame about the food in Barcelona[msnsad] No good Tapas then?? Vino??
Tapas wasn't bad Julie, Vino is nice, but in the evening, three nights on the trot we went upmarket to very nice places we've been to before but they were hugely disappointing for the price.[msnsad]
Still, you live and learn.

Don't know[msneek]
Mizzy??? Fiona???
Well you can but you need to follow the mix 2 match programme.
I have that at home so can't talk with any degree of knowledge on this! All I will say is I did it for a week and put on weight, so decided 1 week of trial was enough!
If you look at the syn values of certain items, they are quite different on green or red days. You need to keep to one or other to allow the calorific values to be correct. Although we don't count calories, they have been worked out by SW experts and allowed for in our A & B choices and free food.
This is from the SW page:

THE SCIENCE
You may have tried obsessive calorie or point counting, calculating portion sizes, eating nothing but cabbage soup or living on grapefruit and eggs. Didn’t work, did it?
We guarantee you need never put yourself through any of that again. They don’t work because by and large they create hunger, boredom and an unhealthy focus on food. They create a mind trap that leads to the eventual failure of yet another ‘diet’ and the inevitable loss of self-esteem and self-confidence in your ability to succeed, when you are not to blame at all! You didn’t fail on the diet – the diet failed you!
At Slimming World, DIET (Dare I Eat That?) is considered a 'four letter word'! With Food Optimising no food or drink is forbidden so the variety is endless and there’
WOW Fiona, we should be on some sort of new member commission!!!!
Julieanne new members at class are advised to master the red and green plans before trying out the two new plans which are called mix to max and success express
i have had many mix to max days some done correctly and some completely messed up and i dont trust myself at all yet with the success express[msneek]
if you can get to a class then you would have all the different plans and the literature as sometimes it needs to be read and re-read to sink in!!!!
so for now i would stick to either a red day or a green day and alternate them throughout the week
Twiglet syns in vodka 2 1/2 per std pub measure and i think wine is either 5 1/2 or 6 syns per std pub measure
personally, if i was gonna have a drink i'd have a black russian (tia maria/vodka)with diet coke in a large class for 5 syns rather than a regular size glass of wine[drinkpepsi]
but i'm a good girl me and i only drink on holiday and over christmas/bank holidays[msnwink] truthfully[msnsmile2]
so far my food diary for today (red day)looks like this
wholemeal toast and ginger jam for brekkie
lemon and pepper chargrilled chicken with roasted veg for dinner, mmm roasted beetroot [msneek] YUMMY!
lemon cheesecake yoghurt 1/2syn and a pear for afternoon snack
2 ameretti biscotti 1+1/2 syns
for tea i am going to have gammon, fried egg, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms with brown sauce 1 syn
and i will probably have a cereal bar (5+1/2 syns)at supper time my current favourite is kellogs crunchy nut with chocolate
i usually snack on fruit if i am still hungry[msnsmile]
Mizzy
Thanks very much Fiona and Mizzy
Sounds way too complicated for me [msnembarrased]
I don't really want to join a class was hoping to manage with the magazines, sample menus and recipes on their web site - but it sounds as if that might not be possible [msnsad]
