    we are all in the same boat , but when we talk about toning up our tummy , we really need to be losing the fat that is covering it. underneath we all have a 'something' pack, its just hidden.

    lucy does a lot of graft in the gym which is excellent. some of us like liesa cant do things because of pain/injury. ceri - sports bra time , ask lucy she'll know- rowing is good for splints dont think it puts much strain on that area. bike also acceptable.
    lynn up the ante increase pace start a jog - you need to be upping the heart beat.
    its difficult to fit in time to exercise but i read that 2 good 30/35 sessions one in morning one in evening is better than one 60/70 min session - because you boost your metabolism twice in the day

    me again - just echoing what lucy says.

    i started swimming in the gym , after running, or on off days when i could hardly walk thru sore knees or dodgy calf. i started swimming a mile . 64 lengths or 80 in the gym pool. i am no natural swimmer i started off taking an hour and five mins. just on breast stroke. over a few weeks ave 3 times a week i pushed the time down into low 50 mins. i then started swimming one front crawl in 3 , then 2 front crawl in 3 , using the breast stroke to get my breath and getting my time well into the 40's.

    dont worry about the time or the distance. you may swim faster you may swim slower. you can improve your times/performance whatever activity you do.this will then serve as an incentive to keep you working and you will see results.(especially when you work out that by doing one extra session of something you can cheat with a treat

    you should make it personal. so it comes from within. you have to want to do it, really want to. keep a log make time for yourself.tell everyone else what you are doing for added help. whether you give up good morning coronation street or match of the day try to set some time aside

    I've only missed a day and there is <span style="color:red">loads</span id="red"> to read.

    Okay I give in on the "weight my body is meant to be" theory. [msnwink].
    I just thought that in my case as I am not overweight, in fact I am "normal" weight, I want to be half stone less to reach what I was 2 year ago. Just wondered if I'm being unrealistic on the weight thing and it's really the body toning I need to get rid of my bum & tum[msnwink].
    Haven't been able to go to the gym so far this week as I have a pain just above my ribs which gets worse when I move so thought I should give it a miss for a few days. Might go and just do some walking on the tread mill tonight and see how I go....[msnoo]

    <span style="color:red">AND</span id="red"> I forgot to bring my lunch to work (a healthy wholemeal pitta filled with chicken, peppers & pine nuts) so had to buy something to eat. Was a little bit naughty tho - jacket potato with cheese savoury and salad[msnembarrased]
