    Hi there
No I don't have much to lose.
I work really hard to stay at my "ideal" weight(and I mean really hard!!). I actually put weight on really easily, so I find that events such as holidays, christmas etc always mean a few pounds gain. I normally lose this quite easily through bumping up the exercise which I always do and by cutting down a little(although I don't have too much scope for cutting down as I eat healthily anyway-just not at the aforementioned times!!!). This time though, I can't seem to shift it and was really pleased to find this group for inspiration, especially as it ties in nicely with the up and coming holiday. At the moment,I have porridge and fruit for breakfast, sandwich(no butter) or cereal for lunch. For dinner, I'll have something like a chicken breast with lots of salad or veg, maybe small jacket potato. Snack over the day might be 3 or 4 pieces of fruit, a salad and 2 diet yoghurts.

So, what do I do next?

Ok here a few more ????

Does the porridge have any added sugar and do you have it with skimmed?

What time do you eat your evening meal?

    What exercise are you doing?[msnsmile2]

    Hi there

Porridge has water and sweetener!(Although I do have skimmed milk in tea). I do min. 40 mins exercise split between treadmill(light running) and crosstrainer. I also walk quite a bit during the day. I also usually do a few mins weights or abs exercises.Evening meal eaten at 6ish.
I must admit, I am at a loss to know why I can't get back to my "norm", but am really hoping I can get to Florida feeling trim(but unfortunately destined to put it back on!LOL.)
    Thanks

I've really puzzled over this. I'm sort of hoping that all at once, about 3lbs will drop off in no time! I was about to give up, but I'm going to persevere for another week or so and I'll post on progress-maybe I just need to up the exercise slightly to get things going?

    good luck Aiminghigh!!
so lucky not to have so much to shift!!! why didnt ever think about this before the weight went on!! never been the "ideal" weight but was an acceptable 11 stone 25 years ago, went on to have child after child for 8years, i had 5 children in that time and NEVER listened to my mum, when she used to say lose the weight or you'll be sorry when your older!!!!and i so am!!!! i am not going to give up. ache like crazy today but am going to go for a long brisk walk with hubby later

i have often looked at "slimmer" people and have been really envious of their figures but never knew that there lots out there that struggle as you do to maintain your ideal weight!!
i have friends who can stuff their faces with everything "naughty" you can imagine!!! and not put on an ounce!!!!
my 16 year old daughter is one of them she weighs 7 stone 10 i think and eats (or rather would if i let her me out of house and home) she is 5ft 4in tall and walks everywhere and is constantly on the go!!!!!
i have another daughter who is 23 (in a few weeks) who weighs 13stones+ and never ever sits still!!! she also has a baby of 13months she also works as care in the community with people with special needs and keeps home!! poor love she cannot shift the weight!!! but is such a happy bubbley person!!!

how can two people from the same parents be so different???? but so alike in many other ways!!!!!!

lol...... i have started writing my life story!!!!!!! dont i go on..... dont answer that one!!![msnwink]

    well done julie[clap]
    keep in sally and liesa
i like the music idea michelle. if i go to the gym and run an hour(about 10k) at my pace i listen to good old frank sinatra on my cd player.
with frank banging out new york new york it gives me incentive and also takes your mind off the task in hand. its amazing how more difficult it is running on a tread mill staring at the milometer slowly ticking over.
lucy i hope thats not your running pace[msnwink]- mach 2. when did you sneak that in.
as for the runner with the fat belly - i just saw him[msnsmile2]ther's a lot to be said for not looking into mirrors!

    welcome to aiming high
