Michele - sounds lovely especially the chocolates[msntongue]

Salmon and stir fry veggies for me and no chocolates.[msnsad]

Also need to spend more time doing free weights I think rather than the machines.

never a truer word spoken. everything i read agrees with the weights comment and michelles muscle heavier than fat routine. but the key thing is muscle raises the metabolism so even for sitting watching coronation street or the footy match you still burn more calories.
so out with the dumbells or baked bean cans or 5k lenor bottles and get those arms raising !![msnsmile2]

interesting site for more reading and motivation is edietsuk.co.uk
i got a link to it last year from somewhere. they send you a regular email which has some interesting angles in they also have various diets or i think you can pay them to get assessed etc. personally i use it as a reminder of what i am supposed to be doing. i also like daft little facts like walking one extra bus stop every day or not using the lift at work etc will burn off xx pounds in a year. i find them good motivators and they keep you focussed - but not to the point of obsession.

someone somewhere once said whether you put weight on ,took it off or stayed the same this week - 'tomorrow's another day'[sporty]

I agree about free weights, and I do three sessions a week in addition to my CV under the careful guidance of a pro and you can really feel the difference[msnwink]

I was quite exhausted when I left the gym last night. Added an extra few minutes on the treadmill and then did 10 mins on the cross trainer.

Didn't get the chance to do many free weights cos there were so many people there but did all my reps on the machines. Will do some free weights at home tonight.

And it was snowing when I was driving home...[msnscared] but it's all gone now.

Salmon and veggies for me too Sally.....

Julieanne, have you ever thought of entering a half marathon or even something smaller? I think about it at this time every year and then don't do it![msnsmile2]

Lucy - I don't think I could manage that at present. Maybe after another year working hard at the gym I would consider it.
Have to be careful as I get sciatica and whereas I don't make that an excuse not to excercise I do have to watch I don't overdo it. Fingers crossed though I haven't had much pain from it recently - I get more pain from my once broken cocycx....[msneek]

Does your trainer come to you?
