just a few suggestions how about baked potato with sweet chill beans yummmy!!!
or pasta quiche (both syn free) Sharwoods do a lovely chow mein noodle box from Tescos which is very low syns and tastes geat[msntongue]

wholemeal pitta bread with lean meat and salad or with a hot filling which you could heat up and then stick in the pitta, chilli chicken is nice or beef tomato and red onion with splash of tomato and basil dressing

for the really lazy batchelors pasta n sauce takes 7 mins in microwave and most types are syn free (avoid the macaroni and cheese) or can you not get mrs macka to do an extra plate of the previous days tea and take that with you to heat up

fruit yoghurt and cereal bar for afters and hey presto you have a full tum[msnsmile2]

Macka, Mizzy has given you some good ideas there. Or you could take soup, home made veg chilli, home made stews/casseroles, pasta and tuna, pasta with a tomato based sauce.

    Wholemeal bread for toasting

Filled wholemeal pittas (hot or cold) are one of my favs.

Lots of fruit, yogurt, natural nuts (not roasted or salted), oat cakes, rice cakes ...

And not forgetting lots of water

There's lots to choose from - if you really want to [msnwink] [msnwink]

Paul, lots of good advice from the girls, home made stuff is so much better for you too, take lots of fruit and veg sticks to snack on too and don't forget a 2 litre bottle of water[clap][clap][clap]

Yes indeed, thanks very much for these mouthwatering tips girls. When it's a late week (only 1 in five) I'll knock one or two dishes off and have it for the week. The stuff in work is so rank it'll be a real bonus having something tasty to eat.

    Quick question?

I like the idea of a chilli, but is a beef one that much worse than a veggie one if I dry fry the mince and drain the fat?

dry fry with a little fry light and then drain off any excess fat and you will be fine

i also use a lot of turkey mince as it has a much lower fat content
both beef and turkey mince are syn free on a red day with sw but i prefer the turkey

    [clap]well done Leisa

I made lots of chillis and spag bols last night to freeze, I used the leanest steak mince I could buy and dry fried it, there is enough fat in the meat for it to cook[msnwink]

Well I'm actually on to 15 day run down now as we are going to go a day earlier and stay at the Manchester travelodge to save getting up woefully early.

So will have to be extra good.

Had a good day so far-went into town and didn't have a muffin with my cup of milk free tea-very boring I know!

I'm doing a huge batch of mince at the moment, I buy one with only 5% fat and nothing comes off it. Have had a green day today so will be lots of pasta and little meat with large salad for supper tonight. Been good the rest of the day and drunk loads of water!

Welcome OB, after the year you had I am not surprised you gave up worrying about what you were eating.

We all know what we have to do don't we, just a matter of actually doing it!
