Liesa - First point then is don't eat cereal!!! I don't I have porridge which is different and will sustain you much longer, most cereals contain sugar (read all labels!) so they give you a quick sugar high and then you are hungry again, try scambled egg on toast (no butter) the egg is pure protien so will fill you up for much longer.

I would love you to post a days food diary??

You are not meant to be 17 stone[msnmad]

oatso simple is a start. for one it is nice to eat but reckon its packed with sugars .on the upside its a set size portion , which is good, but cost is not good. i started eating oatso at work on a morning (much better than a fat boy belly buster from the caravan) but one day i forgot to bring it in. i found some ordinary cheap brand tesco oats measured out a portion and chucked it in the micro. hey presto just the same(even had it with water once cos no milk - hot wall paper paste!). i even treat myself to a tea spoon of sugar on top. less calories less sugars less cost [msnsmile2]

oh the other thing - sod what the doctor says - no pain no gain. dont kill your self but do get some exercise in. there cant be anything better than being in the water body supported?

i know i am luckier than you with that dam n arthritis but i get pains all over back/hip/right knee/left ankle if we always listened to what the docs say we might do nothing but over the past few months i have pushed myself exercise wise, been in lots of pain/aches, swam on days i could only hobble etc . i am heading towards 2 stone but know that if i hadnt put it in i'd still have had pains but be at 16 stone.the last 3 weeks when injured , my weight has gone static and i've got depressed

you mentioned before that you swam/exercised in the past but didnt really lose owt. i bet you were not in the same strong mind set then as you are now?? cos i think you are really up for it
this time it will help you - it cant not, if you are burning extra you will lose.
i give a generalism , and blame ladies(guys do it too but with beer)when i swim, i try to do a mile. during that 45 odd minutes i see about 20/30 people come in do 'a bit' then go out. when i finish my swim and leave i walk thru the cafe. i see the same people sitting there - coffee, blob of cream , chocky bar crisps etc?? waste of time?

dont get me wrong - i'm no saint - on sunday evening i did 900ml of carte d'or ice cream. felt good at the time but after?? so monday and tuesday i swam a mile in the morning and ran 6 at night.

come on dont lose heart now we all want you to win
