Where to go on July 4

As we will next be in Orlando on July 1st, can anyone suggest where we could go on July 4th. For example, do they do anything special in Old Town? Chloe

There are several July 4th celebrations planned in the area. here are a few examples.

    - Old Fashioned July 4th celebrations at Kissimmee along the Toho Lakefront drive. Carnival rides, shows etc. Similar one at Mt Dora.

    - A Concert by 'Vocals Inc' at Animal Kingdom

    - Spectacular Fireworks Display over Mickey's Hat at MGM

    - A 'Patriotic party' at Pleasure Island

    - 'Voices of Liberty' show at Epcot's American Adventure pavilion, followed later by a special longer edition of the Illumination pyrotechics

Thankyou Nostromo, I was wondering if there would be anything at Lake Toho. I rather fancy something that the locals would participate in rather than a theme park event, as spectacular, no doubt that would be. Thankyou Chloe.

We always go to Celebration as they do the best fire works that start at 9m. Also they have things to do for the kids and stands outside for eating and drinking..

I agree. We were in Celebration for 4 July last year. A complete cross section of people who seemed to enjoy themselves. Lots of stalls selling food! not touristy as it is for Americans primarily living there. Street market, great atmosphere - would rcommend it.

Fireworks at 9pm were better I have ever seen on this side opf the pond.

We would stay at home as everywhere will be busy, but that is just us, we avoid going places on any bank holiday but Celebration sounds tempting.

Not sure we would likely be in Florida at that time of year ( well not while daughter is still of school age), but I agree CDV, Celebration does sound interesting! In fact,it is on my list just to visit in April, as the talk of Celebration over Christmas made me want to check it out for myself![msnsmile]
