    Disney 50th Anniversary celebrations

The travel section of the Washington Post has the following article this morning:
Disney is adding new rides and special events to its theme parks and resorts as part of its 50th anniversary celebration of the 1955 opening of Disneyland in California. Among the changes to look for as the 18 month celebration takes off on May 6:
    1) New attractions and rides. Popular shows and rides from Tokyo Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, and Walt Disney Studios Paris will be added to Disney properties in Orlando. At Disneyland, the Cinderella castle will be gilded in gold leaf. For details on new rides and shows go to [website link edited] and click on individual properties.
    2) A new Disney theme park will open in Hong Kong on May 6
    3) Disney resorts in Orlando will begin a free routine shuttle service from the airport in May.
    4) A virtual theme park will debut w/a free online game in which you adopt a persona and acquire points. Soudns like the popular Sims games, except you will win real Disney discounts.
    5) Hundreds of thousands of photos of families vactioning with Disney over the years will be displayed in giant montages. To be included, send photos w/a form you download at www/disneyland.com/photos

Thought you all would like to know. I find the #4 one particularly interesting.

This is also interesting. Obviously, this includes 'Soarin' at Epcot. They may also import that Indiana Jones coaster from Paris that goes backwards, probably for MGM. Unsual, but gave me heck of a neck pain afterwards!

I'd love to see Space Mountain at MK revamped with the Paris version.
