    Double decker airplanes..the future?

Airbus A380, the world’s biggest passenger airliner.

Dwarfing the Boeing 747, this double-decker of the skies has been dubbed the “superjumbo”. Its wingspan is four-fifths the length of a football pitch. Its design could accommodate up to 850 passengers, though most airlines are initially likely to use much of the extra space to turn flying into an experience more akin to a luxury cruise.

There is talk of in-flight casinos, fountains, shops, gyms and showers. Some airlines are considering scra-ping the traditional trolley service at meal times for a range of self-service food counters.

Futuristic it may sound, but the A380 is expected to make its first test flight by the end of March and enter service next spring with flights between Singapore and London.

Maybe they will install a thrill ride for us to use on our way to Orlando[8D]

I do hope they go the way of installing fewer seats at a slightly higher price and make flying a pleasure rather than packing in the full 850 in a knees-to-chin formation.

There was a lot of talk about 'super' planes some years ago but then they never materialised - looks like they have now!

Wow, you could do an Orlando return flight on one tank of fuel! [8D] But with 261 feet wingspan, I wonder where they're gonna park it?
