Airbus A380, the world&'s biggest passenger airliner.

Its design could accommodate up to 850 passengers, though most airlines are initially likely to use much of the extra space to turn flying into an experience more akin to a luxury cruise.

There is talk of in-flight casinos, fountains, shops, gyms and showers. Some airlines are considering scra-ping the traditional trolley service at meal times for a range of self-service food counters.

Sorry to sound like a wet blanket, but with all these add ons, won't the fare be correspondingly "superjumbo"?

I suppose if they put in self service food counters etc though they would charge extra for those bits and pieces and make money that way![msnsmile2]

Oh well, we'll get used to the queues. After long ques to check-in before boarding and at immigration after the flight, I suppose queues for food on board will not make much difference.

I honestly think it will be just like any other plane, they had all these big plans for the 747 and look how it turned out. First and Business may be a bit more special but the rest will be just the same, they will probably run each deck like a separate aircraft!

With a top speed of 670 mph that might make the flight to Florida a little quicker.
Although I can't see Virgin using these for Florida, at least intially. I reckon they'll be doing the Australian routes and similar long long haul.

Can you imagine how long it will take to get your luggage if your suitcase is the last off of this monster...[:O]

i still have trouble believing that something so big and heavy can fly so gracefully through the skies....then along comes this one!!!!! not sure you'll find me on one of these but then again if there was nothing else to get me to florida it would just have to do!!!!!!

Maybe the flight time would fly by whilst you queued for your food, imagune keep loosing your place in the queue though every time you had to return to your seat due to turbulance![msnscared]
