Reserving Virgin seats booked through Charter Trav

I have just tried to resevere my seats with Virgin to be told I can not do this until I have my tickets in hand??? To be honest I don't think the lady on the end of the phone knew what she was doing!!!

I am going Premium Economy Manchester-Orlando on July 30 and want to book my seats now, I had an email from Charter Travel saying I can do this, but does anyone know which reference I should use from my Charter Travel booking????

I never had this problem when I booked through Virgin Holidays.

    Help!!!

    Many thanks!![msnscared]

    Lucy,

Did you book them recently. Usually there is a delay between booking with Charter travel and when they give Virgin your name as they block book the seats in advance and then allocate you one when you book with them. I booked mine on Monday and haven't been able to pre-reserve seats yet but have been assured I will be able to do so soon once our names are sent in.
We've used Charter Travel several times before and have never had any problem reserving seats, meals etc you just need to wait a week or so.

We had the same in November.
Charter booked it through Funway Travel and Virgin just had a block booking on their system in the name of Funway.

We had to wait until something like 2 weeks before we flew to call Virgin and reserve seats.
Have you tried calling Virgin direct to see if they can help?
Your name, date and flight number should help.

    Brizzle.

are you actually getting tickets or is it an e ticket(electronic ticket) if this is the case and you do not get tickets you can obtain an e ticket number and this is what you use to get your seats allocated....we did this in december and after i called the tour operator and got this number i was able to do everything online including checking in the day before (no queuing ) it was great.....good luck

i hope i dont offend anyone when i say this, but, i have emailed Charter Travel a few times for quotes and they just dont get back to me, ok no that is a fib they do come back usually after a week or 2 and when they do email me its not a quote for what i have asked for. I have had a couple of emails back from them saying the same message along the lines of, 'we have had trouble with our computer system and would be grateful if you could sen details again etc etc'. It really doesnt give me much fatih in booking flights or whatever through them.[msnsad]Sorry again if people have booked through them and found them ok, maybe its just ive been unlucky, i am still waiting now for a quote, ive been waiting a few days.
