can you buy some presents online and have them delivered to where you're staying in the US. Christmas in Florida, sounds fantastic , might give it a try next year

    Of course Benfilo

Although some on line stores wont take UK credit cards if you are ordering for delivery in the US. In this case, maybe your MC could order the items for you.

"The boys are worried that he won't find them in Florida so we are having to take a Please Stop Here sign too, just in case"

    Lisa & Scott,
Just take them to visit santa in the UK and he will reassure them that he will stop in Florida. He has done that for me. My boys can't understand how santa is going to come into the hse as it has no chimney and the safety alarm on the patio/pool door!

Really think it depends on Age doesn't it? I know if I said to my 12 year old, Full on Xmas here, or go to Florida for Xmas, she really wouldn't be thinking of presents round a tree in Florida!!! I think I would go for the main stuff here, and then I would make it a different day altogether while out there. Don't think I would stress myself trying to re-create the whole day out there! Perhaps make it a treasure hunt experience?
    Have a great time [xmas2]

We do a big christmas lunch with the whole family before we go and exchange pressies, but the gals get their christmas presents in florida as they usually want clothes etc so have a field day telling us what they want as the christmas money goes so much further in dollars than in pounds!

They were very impressed the first year we were there for christmas with their christmas stockings - candy canes and mini marathon sweets (can't remember what they are called now!) as well as tangerines and their stocking fillers. So this is now an institution when in florida and quite different to their stockings in the UK.

My husband did his usual and hadn't got me a thing last year, so he was saved when I found a fossil watch en route to going to the cinema at Universal Citywalk! I'm not holding my breath this year![msnwink][xmas1]

Had a lovely Christmas day in the end. I ended up getting the children lots of clothes, smellies etc. We then met up with another couple and we all went to watch the snowing at Celebration. The kids said it was their best Christmas day ever. Very relaxed. Unlike the flight where it took off two hours late, we missed the connecting flight to orlando and then all our luggage arrived yet another 3 hours after our arrival. Traumatic to say the least!!![msnmad][msnmad][msnmad] Thank u to all those who tried to help me out [beer]

Glad that despite the flight there, you are having a good holiday. Great to hear that Christmas Day went well and you are all relaxing. Have a Happy New Year too.[msnsmile2]
