It's all a matter of personal preference but I'd rather pay the extra to go Virgin and arrive in Orlando at 2pm in the afternoon rather than 8pm+ if I was going indirect. Also I can have a full last day in the parks on the day we leave after using the Downtown Disney check-in. Otherwise we'd have to be at the airport at around midday to catch the connecting flight home.

Virgin means I get nearly an extra day and a half of my vacation which is well worth the extra for us [msnsmile2]

I agree 100%. A convenient time of arrival and departure at any destination (especially Orlando) is far more important to me than saving a few pounds to arrive at night.

I think arrivals times don't tell the whole story. Firstly, the MAN-MCO flight arrives at 2.50 pm. You then have to consider that the immigration checks are to be done and can take a long time when, as with Virgin, pretty much everyone on the flight is a foreign visitor. You're lucky if you and your baggage and are away from the terminal by 4.30 pm.

Secondly, it is perfectly possible to get to MCO by the indirect route well before 8pm and VERY MUCH CHEAPER. Further, the immigration checks and customes are taken care of at the point of first arrival so you go straight to the baggage hall at Orlando. Much less luggage on those flights and much quicker.

It is, as John and Sarah rightly point out, a matter of preference. I actually prefer to go indirect because you don't have a 9+ hour flight but I can see that others would prefer to pay Virgin's prices if the direct route is preferred.

ok yes very funny! Virgin! but they were first class with us 3 weeks ago, but still couldnt stand the thought of different airports, this way and that way, just like to get on the plane and know when i get off am at my destination!
we are not worldy travelled.....yet, but have nevr had problems with short haul to menorca, mallorca, corfu, and its jsut with virgin they like to wind people up! thats what theyre best at, all the grief we had before we went with seating etc, well that all went out the window when we got to the airport! it was like we werent talking to the same people if you know what i mean, they couldnt have been more helpful if they'd try!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with the above and also there are often long queues at the car rental desks at that time.(yes I appreciate the driver can go for the car while others wait for luggage) but the majority have Dollar or Alamo cars and several planes arrive close to each other.

I and friends/family who have used Virgin to MCO find their service far worse than on their other routes.

Getting back to the original topic, I would be happy to see any airline, including Virgin, expand the options from Manchester. Not only would that give us customers more choice, it would provide much needed competition and, hopefully, reduce fares.
