Joolz... take a deep breath....
4 hours will be more than early enough. Just think of the extra time as part of the trip and take in some of the great shops after you've checked in. The time will soon scoot by.
Relax... chill.. and have a wonderful trip![]()

I think it is 40% of the seats can be prebooked, 60% allocated on the day.

these are our thoughts, we are going for twillight check in tonight!! and am hoping that after all my emails/phonecalls and 2 letters to the main man! hoping might get bulkhead seats!!!!!!
but am not going to get myself in a state over this like i did some weeks ago!
i said to Richard Branson that they make the rules up as they go along, and depending how the virgin customers service operators are feeling on the day!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats what seats you get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been told by the special needs section (which is now dealing with my problem) that the bulkhead seats are only released the morning of the flight and then allocated to anyone that has special notes in their reservation. Doing twilight checkin could jeopardise your chances of getting these seats.
We have never reserved seats in advance with any airline. We simply turn up earlyish and have always managed to get seats together.
As for your fear of flying Joolz, why don't you see your GP about it? Most GPs are nice and understanding () and he/she is sure to sort you out depending on your medical history.
Nostromo
Joolz the check in doesn't open until 4 hours before departure so don't get there any earlier it will just increase your anxiety if you have to wait too long.<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by Joolz

i was told by virgin staff, go for twilight checkin, you stand a better chance of seats, but then no 2 members of their staff say the same thing!!!!!

Joolz, Liesa
If you give me your flight details I will check the availability and what seats are available as I have an online tool which allows me to look up the seating plan and availability for any given flight.
As I've mentioned on a previous thread and has been mentioned above, this problem exists on all carriers and is not just Virgin Atlantic.

One way is to phone for your seats 180 days before you travel as that is when the seats are first released to give you more chance of sitting together. We usually phone for the outward and return journey separately and so far have had no problems.
We've left it later than usual to book for March but have phone today and got reasonable seats for the 2 of us for both outward and return.
