    Virgin Atlantic Online Checkin

We've just used this for the first time. It allows you to checkin up to 24 hours before your flight.

Everything is done online. On arrival at the airport, go to the DIY Check In Bag Drop desk to collect your boarding documents and check your bags in. This must be completed at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your flight.

Please ensure all passengers bring their passports, tickets or e-ticket receipts, and other relevant documentation.

The Bag Drop desk is located at the Virgin Atlantic check in area and will be indicated by the sign shown here.

Makes up for Manchester not having a twilight checkin facility.

We tried to use the Delta online check in earlier this week, but it couldn't find our details!! Sounds like the Virgin system works a bit better...

Does any one know if you can use this facility if you have children in your party?

Great isn't it John? When you checkin online to come home it should have remembered all your passport details so you dont have to type them all in again. We used it in September and saves having to be at the airport 3 hours before flight.

I did not see anything saying you couldn't - although it is just me and Sarah going this time so maybe a warning only comes up if children are in your party.

i'm a bit kerfuffled over what to do next wednesday, we will do twillight checkin tuesday eve, then you only have to be at the airport 50 mins before boarding! but we like to get to the airport for breakfast and a good look around!, but our flight is 11.15am, so then it would be better to leave at say 9am, i only live in Brighton, 35 mins from the airport, if we leave at 9am, we are gonna get caught in rush hour traffic!!oh decisions, decisions!!! someone make a decision for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!pl ease...........

    Hi Christine

We used it in October/November this year with 2 children and there were no problems. I think you are ok as long as children are linked to an adult on their booking system.

What was the queue like at the DIY bag check-in desk? i am sure it would still be shorter than queueing at the normal desks at Gatwick!![msnsmile][msnsmile]
