    Thanksgiving

Well I thought Thanksgiving was a bit of a damp squib.
Not much build up as far as I could see, TV mentioned it a little but not much visible out apart from the park being busier.
I suppose it's a little like our May Day etc, just a day off.

Anyway, we ate at Prime Time. Turkey of course but our server wasn't really into it like the next tables server. Ate all mine so no forfeits but the eldest daughter was told off for not eating hers and also standing on the seat...

Some pics from today which was meant to be showery but was in fact a lovely cloudless day after overnight rain.

Thanks Steve, you in Vegas yet? If so where are the piccies?
You gotta post some of the strip at night. I can only imagine the results you'll get.
I suppose they may have to go in Off Topic though

Missing the warmth of Florida? [:P]

Not sure what you expected Brizz for Thanksgiving? It's normally pretty quiet everywhere and families get together for their Thanksgiving meal, a bit like Christmas day celebrations in the UK. I know when we were there at Thanksgiving, the whole place was like a ghost town!

Never mind, you'll see plenty of action tomorrow for Black Friday (sales!) which start at around 5 - 6 am in some stores and the traffic is usually at a standstill anywhere near big stores with sales on.

We all got together for our Thanksgiving dinner and I am so stuffed I can hardly type. As Blott said it is a day when families get together for dinner usually at a family members house. We always watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV in the moring and then dinner with family. Not too much else going on except for the football games and reading the newspaper inserts to find the best deals for early morning shopping the next morning. Although, I will not be out there when some open as early as 5:00 AM.

I expected a big deal to be made of it as the US people normally make a big thing out of any celebration.
I think I probably heard a couple of 'Happy Thanksgivings' or 'Happy Holidays'.
I was just surprised as Christmas and New Year are really well done and in your face. As I said apart from the parks being busier I would have never guessed it was Thanksgiving.

I had a great day but it just seemed like every other day to me in Florida as a tourist.
Suppose everyone who was doing Thanksgiving 'properly' were at home with family like Kay with just us tourists out and about.

Shopping in Guess the other day the assistant said to get there at 5amon Black Friday!!! ...will not be doing that.
Might venture up to Buena Vista Outlet as it's the nearest and we have an extra 10% coupon for Old Navy. See the USD to GBP is up to almost $1.9 so I can squeeze a little more into my allowance.

Does anyone know what the duty on kids clothes are as if we are over we may declare the 'extra' as the kids stuff as no VAT will need to be paid?

It certainly wasn't quite in MK today, I have never seen it as busy, the place was packed, shortly after midday you could only get fastpasses for 10pm.

Whilst waiting for the parade there where local school bands and Cheerleaders marching up the street and the pre show entertainers had all the spectators joining in Happy Thanksgiving Chants.

It has been a real good day in MK today and there is even a later Spectro at 1100 for all those who could stay awake. Spectp is one of my favourite parades but I prefared the other music, the tune stayed with you for days after.

Did anyone catch the Macy's parade on TV there where millions on the streets of NY watching that,Jens brother had flown over from the UK to watch it.
