What are your hand-luggage 'must have's'

Only 9 more days and we're off. Have started to think about packing, and have just got flight bag out, which is a signal to start being excited. My must have's (apart from passports, air tickets) are....
    Reading glasses
    Reading material
Pen,paper (for endless list making of tasks & shopping).
    Sweets,juice.
    Perfume
    Moisturizer.
What can you not travel without? Chloe

My hand luggage is like the tardis, I carry something to cover every eventuality. A throwback to travelling with young children I guess

All the usual plus medications, painkillers, wet wipes, tissues, clean underwear, spare toothbrush+paste, socks, pillow, puzzle books, mags, reading book, cardigan/sweatshirt, chewing gum, sweets, ciggies, notebook and pen, villa brochures and cards.... ad infinitum [:I]

Everyone laughs at me until they need something I carry all the time

my must-haves after stuff like my asthma medication, passports ect are a bottle of water (bought at airport), something to tie my hair up with (gets terribly static during flights) and lip balm. Also take a book/puzzle book. Pen is essential for Visa Waiver forms.

OOoh also a spare pair of knickers in case my luggage goes astray[:I]
