The very first ride I ever went at Disney was the Tower of Terror in 1998!!

We were the first riders in the morning following early entrance and I took my 8 year old daughter on it. My wife and younger daughter clearly had more sense and chose to watch from a distance.

Given we had never experienced a real pre-show and all the psychological hoodoo that precedes the ride I have to admit we were both very wary of this ride before we encountered our first drop. To be honest when the door peeled back and we could see all across Disney MGM I really feared for my daughters safety. In fact the photo taken literally at the point where your dropped shows me looking carefully down at her rather than forwards. I remember her mouth opened but she did not scream!!

At the bottom of the full drop (it preceded the pogoing that happens now) I also remember her holding my hand tightly and saying "That was horrible... is it all over?..." As she was asking this I could feel us being elevated for a second drop...

Then the doors opened in front of us again and she screamed loudly!! The clever part of Disney timing is that they place allow you to recognise how high you are just before they let you drop... Kate was still screaming when we reached the bottom of the drop.

At the bottom, she recovered her breath, still clinging tightly to my arm and I put my arm around her to say how brave she had been and that .. "Yes its all over now!" ...

Then they dropped us for a 3rd time...

    and I screamed loudly!! [msncry]

Until two weeks ago, despite returning to DisneyMGM four times I would'nt even comprehend going on it again. Especially since all the advertising hoardings say "Tower of Terror 4.. Yes we made it even worse!!".. No chance.

But going on holiday with friends who had never experienced it and being End of Oct with NO QUEUES we rode the rock and roller coaster twice (absolutely fantastic!!) and then plucked up the courage to go straight on TT.

I have to say it buried the demons and nightmares I held when we all (Kate too, who was as wary as me even though she is now 14) rode it. Not at all as bad as I remembered. My wife and younger daughter came on with us on the second time once they'd seen our reactions...

So sorry now there are NO rides I wish I'd never gone on!!

My Mum can handle all the rollercoaster rides but you never guess what actually made her physically sick........

Not all that surprising. Rapid spinning does make people sick quite often, one of the reasons why it happens in Mission:SPACE. There are some Fairground Rides that do not look very scary, but involve spinning and I often feel a bit nauseous after riding those.

    I agree.

I could ride roller coasters etc. all day long but can't even look at the Waltzers without thinking of my last meal showing up again.

I think it must be Tower of Terror for me. Apart from the time you waste queuing for over an hour for your turn, the ride is horrible. My husband and children didnt want to go on it, but I thought yes, the scarier the better, this was just awful. First time in my ever, I was thinking to myself on the ride, NEVER AGAIN!!!
