Found this on United Airlines website

By printing your boarding pass through united.com, you can proceed directly to security. If you have bags to check, you may check-in online, and then use EasyCheck-in Curbside or an EasyCheck-in Kiosk at the airport.

In order to use EasyCheck-in Online, you must:

    Have an electronic ticket
    Be a Mileage Plus Member
Check in between 1 and 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure
Travel on a United, Ted or United Express flight
Travel within the U.S including Alaska, Hawaii, San Juan, Puerto Rico, or St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Travel in a group of 9 or less
Use a computer that is connected to a working printer

I may be wrong but I think that the whole journey has to be within the U.S so if the flight is departing from the U.K you wont to able to check in online.
This was definitely the case when we flew with Continental earler this year.it also included the connecting flight from Newark to Orlando.

We fly with United via Washington, and am sure that you cannot check in on line etc. Seems only for Usa internal flights.

Darn - I was hoping I would not have to get the aiport so early. Have been told by Charter Travel to get there 4 hours ahead. Anyone know if this is true?

Thanks for your replies. Reading the info it does seem to me that the on-line check-in is not available in GB but I will get my enquirer to double check with the airline themselves nearer their departure time.

Yes we have been at the airport 4 hours ahead, when we flew to Floirda July/August this year and our flight was at 8am and were at the airpot at 4am. Must be gluton for punishement as we have the same time flights when we fly again this December.

    Hi Michelle,
If you can remember, we would be interested to know if you have sufficient time at immigration to catch your flight from Washington to MCO with the new photo and fingerprint job. We are flying United in May. Last time we went this route with them we just had enough time to get the connection.

Hi Mike & Kath, yes we had time to catch the connecting flight from Washington on our last trip, and that was with us having our finger prints and photos taken at Washington.
As we have USA visitors visas we were already going through this routine since last year.
We are due to go out again next month, so will let you know how it goes then,as it will be the first time we will be going through this process since September 01 when it came into force for all travellers with Vias Waiver forms to also be finger printed and photgraphed.
