Have you ever considered Las Vegas for Christmas? The strip is great during the holidays. Tends to be a little chilly, but it's Vegas!

I've not been to LV for Christmas, but were there for the Millennium Eve. It was absolutely fantastic. Your idea of going to LV at Chrismas is a good one Flyrr100, because the visitors can then plan to stay on for the New Year celebs as well.[beer][beer]

Savannah is about 4 hours north. So I'd recommend at least a two day trip. It's a great day out! The old city is full of 'squares'. All grassy areas with lovely statues and the best old 1800s buildings. Down by the Savannah River there are resturants and bars and tourist shops.
When I lived in Jacksonville I'd drive up there for romantic nights with my wife. Of course, that was before we had kids!
I'm sure there are many web sites about Savannah or Oglethorpe County.

Have fun

be careful though, went in one after the other, without really looking what type they were, and one turned out to be somebodies house

i quickly apologised and left

I remember new years celebs were wild! I lived there before they closed in Freemont St. You could drive down Freemont then. There used to be a great British pub opposite the Federal Building called 'Mad Dogs & Englishmen'. Totally good time on new years eve! Except for the smoke!

Freemont street is great and the hotels are out of this world[msnoo]

I won $700 on my last night on 2 machines and went for one last mad dash around the shops before our flight
