The days in Orlando are fairly pleasant but nights can get a bit chilly. Remember that the daylight hours are shorter in January. You'll need windcheaters or light jackets if going out for the evening. Also, you will most certainly need pool heating in the villa.

Hi Limara, I agree that the weather will be pleasant particularly during the day. It depends what you are looking for. It's the right weather for seeing the theme parks in my opinion, because you won't be suffering the heat of the summer. Also the parks should be quiet at that time.

thanks for the replies folks, we normally visit in november, we are having to delay this year as my sons just lost his job and we are awaiting an appeal hearing, the soonest we could book for would be January, but i remember some one that lives in florida saying " Weather in January is about as bad as it gets!" I just wondered how bad that would be.
I dont want it too bad to be able to use the pool ( we normally have pool heating in November as well) or to have to go out with jackets in the day evenings im not too bothered about.

what is the normal day time temperature for the end of January? and are the water parks ( mainly wet n wild ) open at that time?

Its colder for the people who live there full time.... then for us Brits....or us hardy folk from the Northern United States....I take a light jacket everywhere.....or a jumper......We had one cool day last Jan...I think it was 40 degrees...and for a few days I used the heating for a few mins in the mornings ...

My honest view is, we did it once and wouldn't go again at that time! It was freezing[msneek]Sun was out, but I had to buy a pair of Jeans and a sweatshirt, and was still cold!! No water parks, no swimming, but if you want to do parks, shop and other tourist attractions, Kennedy etc it was fine! That was 10 years ago BTW.

I was over in January this year and we're back for another week this coming January. I found the weather to be warm during the day, needed a jumper at night. Swam in the pool without pool heat and it was 5 days before I realised the pilot light on the boiler had gone out and we had no heating in the house either. The locals were out in their fur coats. Wimps
Once the heating was on in the pool it really was very comfortable to swim - and if you have fair skin you still have to be cereful of the sun.

    Thanks Drew,

I was just about to panic, we normaly go out March/April and June, but due to exams we are going 31 Jan-18th Feb. Kids are complaining, but this is better than nothing. It is the first time that the children have seen our new villa on Glenbrook. We went in June to add the gamesroom etc.

    Hi,

I went out at the beginning of Jan this year and like people have said, the weather is pleasant! Day temperatures were in the Low 70's. We managed to do blizzard beach one day and it was fine, just started getting a bit chilly late afternoon. Evening are chilly though, the temps were low to mid 50's.

    Have fun

The experts are predicting that we are going to have a cool winter. After three direct hits this summer anything's possible!
