    Tampa Airport

For our next 2 trips we are flying direct into Tampa airport.
One travel agent has said that because the airport is smaller, immigration is normally quicker.
    Has anyone experienced Tampa airport

    Yes
We nearly always fly into Tampa simply because we find orlando airport takes us twice as long to get through. We also think that Tampa airport is better laid out than Orlando and definately quieter. All this is or course personal taste.

    have a great holiday[msnsmile2]

We much prefer Tampa, it is smaller than Orlando International and quite a friendly airport. Car hire is on site for collection and return and it is not difficult to find the I4 to head up to Orlando.

We have flown the Tampa route and it was good. The airport is smaller and the drive to Orlando was under an hour. There was still a long queue for immigration and everyones bag had to be x-rayed for agriculture purposes after immigration, but it was still slightly quicker than Orlando as there quite often more than one airline arrives at the same time in the afternoon ie BA, Virgin and Lufthansa.

My son flew through Tampa last year and found it fine.
We always recommend that our guests try Orlando,Tampa and Sanford airports when looking for a flight.
For various reasons, landing to house take about the same time.

I would have thought that Tampa is definitely a strong alternative airport for those staying at the US27 villa communities. I cannot imagine it takes too much more drive time than MCO to get there and probably less time than Sanford. If you add the probable shorter immigration wait times, then Tampa's case could be boosted even more.

I also fly to Tampa almost every year as I find more availability in flights. The passport check is more or less the same as Orlando-

We have also used Tampa in the past, recommend it to anyone who is going to Orlando. Last time in July we were talking to the air hostess and she said that even they prefer Tampa as there are not as many young children on board all getting excited .

From experience there are usually less children on a Tampa flight than Orlando. More business travellers for central Florida take this route. Not all airlines have daily flights there though like they do to Orlando. We like flying to Tampa!
