Please forgive my stupidity but are you saying that the airline sold the adpator on the flight?

Is that what cost you £60?

I bought an adapter from Dixons duty free when flying from Heathrow in April and it was the same model that was being sold on the plane, but about £10 cheaper in duty frr. The only thing was that it had a loose wire so wasn't any use - returned it to a different Dixons at the airport on our return for a refund. My only complaint was the power adaptor outlet in the seat arm of the BA World Traveller Plus seat means that the adaptar pokes into your leg - not very comfortable on a long journey.

Why not consider buying a Personal DVD Player for the Kids to use, this can be handy for the car journey and the flight too.

Some of these are multi region so can be used here and in the USA.

WalMart have a good selection and Argos have one for £100.

    Worth every penny!
