Next year we will be going to Florida a few days after Christmas and spending New Year there. Any advise from others, who have been there at this time of year, as to where to go for New Year's Eve and New Years Day?

If you want an alternative from the big parks, try Gaylord Palms. They do a good New year's 'do'.

Both Universal’s City Walk and Disney's Pleasure Island get some semi-big names in for New Year's Eve. We have done MK for New Year's Eve and the atmosphere is brilliant (especially when you consider that there is no alcohol fuelling it), but MK is a LONG day and the park is BUSY. If this is your first Orlando New Year then I would say MK is worth it as an experience, but we are not repeating it this year (now ticked of the list).
We normally always go at New Year rather than Christmas as it is so busy, this year we are there both as we take possesion of our new house mid December. Depends what you are after really, Do you have kids or is it a grown up party? We spent the Millenium in HRC at Universal and that is great, they have private dos in a few of the places in Universal and then you come outside for fireworks etc etc. Some of the Disney parks would probably be better if you have younger children. As Nostromo mentioned Gaylord Plams is nice and there are another couple of s w a n k y hotels around to.

We were wondering what to do New Years eve some of our party want to go to Pleasure Island so does my 17 year old but we were wondering if he will be allowed, maybe if we were already in they might let him stay.
They would let him stay, when you enter you get a wrist band, for admission and over 21's get a diffent colour as it allows them to consume alcohol.[drinkbeer]

My youngest daughter will be 15 when we go next year and my sons 20,22,26, & 30. My brothers boys will be 12,18 & 21. So looking at all round, the fav. parks tend to be I.O.A and Universal Studios. The older ones will definately be looking towards alcholic refreshments during the later part of the evening.
