Both TL and BB are equally ggod. I cannot miss either. Great rides at BB (especially Summit Plummet and Runoff Rapids) but TL has superb landscaping and that Wave Pool.....

    First trip this year guys,

i think BB just edged it over TL for us (even though we all bottled out of Summit Plummet) I did the slush gusher next to it and i swear my entire body became airborne on the second dip! [angel]

We didnt like the fact that the majority of the seating was on the sand at TL and there was a lack of parasols to get into the shade, whereas BB had loads of seating on hard standing and loads of shady places to get out of the heat. BB also just edged it with more thrilling rides, we all loved the very long family raft ride and i loved the tobbogan racers (mainly because at over 15 stone i was able to get up some serious speed)

TL is a great park though and the wave has to be seen to be beleived, dont be fooled into thinking you are safe in the shallow water. It still managed to take my 15 stone and turn it upside down, resulting in some sore grazes to elbows and knees from the rather rough surface. [beer]

I just want to second the comment about suncream, especially at BB. I think that it may be the white surfaces as I am sure more of the UV is reflected and the exposure increased. I managed to get slightly pink on our holiday in January, and I don't have the fairest of skins, so please be careful.

Asked our 3 year old which waterpark she wanted to visit today and she said Typhoon Lagoon cause of the big waves. I had to agree with her too and a great day out had by all.

It will be a sad day on Monday when we leave our villa.

Are both the water parks suitable for my son who is 5 and just learning to swim with armbands? Is either of the parks more suitable for him or both just about the same? We are going to Florida next June for the 4th time and this will be our first visit to a waterpark so any advice would be great. Also is there plenty of shady places to sit and cool down as we are all fair skinned especially the two kids. [msnsmile]

Weemac, Both TL and BB are suitable for a 5 year old. There is plenty to do and enjoy in both these parks. Obviously, there are height restrictions on some of the rides, which means that your lad will not be allowed in those. You will see as you go along.

TL had ratehr more shady areas than BB, but on crowded days (and in June most days will be crowded), the choice shady spots will be 'reserved' very quickly. So, make sure that you arrive as soon as the parks open.

Shady area or otherwise, Sun Block Creams are an absolute must in the Water Parks. Given your fair skin and the heat in June, I suggest Factor 60 to be safe. Also, get some 'after-sun' cream with Aloe Vera, cos you might get the odd sunburnt area despite precautions. You get much better choice of these creams and lotions in the USA, usually at Walgreens.

    Have a great time.
