How "intense" are the spider FX at attractions?

    Hi Folks

Travelling soon with a youngster who has a fear of spiders.

I know about the FX in a bugs life, and figure if I let her know about this in advance then it won't be quite as frightening for her, (this is no joke, she's TERRIFIED of the beasties), but I've not experienced shrek 4d or the mummy. Both movies that she loves.....

So any hints on fear factor would be good please.

I don't think any of the CGI 'Special Effects' in the Orlando Rides and shows will be particularly frightening, with the exception of the newish Mummy ride at Universal and possibly AK's 'Dinosaur!' for small kids. Shows like Shrek are designed with kids in mind and are more thrilling than scary. The same applies to the likes of Buzz Lightyear, Men in Black etc. There is no real 'Spider Effect' in Spiderman or in 'Bug's Life' and I doubt if they will cause problems to your arachnophobic daughter.

But if you go to Silver Springs, they have shows with real, live creepy crawlies including soiders; there are projections on a large TV screen. Likewise, you will see a lot of insects if you go on the Boggy Creek Airboats.

    Hi LiesaAnna

Yes, I saw the gallery pics. Straight out of the movie "8 legged freaks"....Eeesh.

Thanks Nostromo & Jolliffee. I've been on AK's Dinosaur, I dont remember a spidery scene? As regards bugs life, well done that so I know what to expect...

She loves Shrek, but the 'ol spiders crawling up the leg gag, mmm dunno.... .

Nostromo have you forgotten about the massive spiders which come down from the ceiling in the Bugs Life 3Dshow??[msnscared][msnscared]

Very very freaky for me and I would imagine that for a child scared of spiders it would be horrific.

I would avoid this if I were you.

Yikes! You are absolutely right! I had completely forgotten about those spiders. Mind you, spiders as such don't bother me in the least. Thanks to my evil nanny as a child, my personal phobia is with butterflies and moths! [msnembarrased][msnembarrased]
