We flew with AA last Christmas to Orlando and also to Boston in August. They were very good, plenty of space and courteous and efficient cabin crew. The seatback TV's had a good selection of films. My only complaint about one of the kids films on August was the language - it was Shrek 2 and I don't know what the rest of the film is normally like as it did state that it was modified for in-flight suitability for all - but the fairy godmother used a word once that I didn't feel was suitable for our six-year old.

A good thing with AA is that with them being part of the One World Alliance you can get cheap add-on UK BA fligths, a great bonus for us flying from Inverness (and I know that there are many of you that use this as your home airport of choice [:P]). The downside of this is that you have to get the 2pm-ish flight from Gatwick to Dallas, so you finally arrive at Orlando after midnight. In saying that the roads were beautifully clear on our drive to the villa, , even if I did feel a bit [msneek]! The flight to Dallas also makes it overall quite a long routing, and Dallas isn't particularly good as an airport.

Another advantage of flying AA is it is predominantly used by Americans, so when you arrive in the US the queue for non-US citizens at immigration isn't as bad as with some other carriers.

The same thing could be true of Continental. I have not used that airline a great deal, but when we flew to Denver once, most passengers seemed to be Americans and we were among the few UK visitors.

We travelled with them from Manchester to Boston this year. They were using a old B757 which in my opinion is not suitable for transatlantic flights as they only have one aisle and no seat back TV's. The service was generally good but for the money we paid for the flights you can not go wrong. I have used the Manchster to Chicago route and they fly a B767 which is far better.
I know they are doing some good deals at the moment on the new Manchester to Miami route. My sister has recently paid £310 each for a return flight via miami to Orlando with AA.
