BTW as you mention Sam Adams, are you from the Boston/New England area?

Also Boardwalk is themed like an old-style East Coast beach resort with a wide decked boardwalk. There are games and bike rentals.

Yes, I'm from New England. I live in Connecticut.

I have been to a couple of goond brewpubs in New England (we enjoy visiting there and have been twice so far this year). If you are up in Maine the one on the way in to Freeport is nice (Gritty McDuff's). Slightly further down Red Hook is good in Portsmouth, NH and in Boston John Harvard's Brewpub in Cambridge is nice.

Does this say something about me???[drinkbeer]

I always look for ABC Fines Wines & Spirits. They have a web page that will locate a store.

Grittys is a nice place. Stone Coast is also in Portland, it realy good

Portsmouth has Portsmouths Pub and Brewery, which is great. Redhood is owned by Bud, so they never impressed me, but I have never been to the Brewery.

Boston has a few good breweries. Boston Beer Work is great, it is across the street from Fenway Park, where the Red Sox play.

I could go on for hours. That is one of the first things I do when I travel, is to find a brewery in the area. I haven't looked for one in Orlando yet, but I have three weeks.

If you find one let me know as I haven't been to succesfull. I would agree about the Portsmouth Pub and Brewery, dothey brew on site there? I didn't realise Red Hook was owned by Bud - I thought it was independant and had been started on the West Coast somewhere. I have not been to Boston Beer Works, but as we tend to like to stay near the Prudential Center/Copley Square area this isn't too far away - so will need to investigate.

There is the Shipyard Brewery in the main terminal at Orlando Airport, but I have never tried it as we are always just heading to the rental car or waiting for the plane and wanting to get through security.

Hops have a brewpub in Orlando, but I don't know what they are like and they seem to be a bit of a chain from there web site, so not sure when it stops being classed as a micro-brewery. You will have to let me know how you get on as it is not until December that we go to Florida.

The pub in Celebration is nice to sit outside at and watch the world go by.

Hops is a chain that hasn't impress me.

Redhook was a smaller brewer but expanded with money from bud. I can't say that I have had it lately I don't trust Bud put care about taste.

Shipyard is originally from Kennibunkport Maine. Federal Jacks is the name of the bar, and when it is bottled, it's called shipyard.

Near the Prudential center, there isn't any breweries real close by, but Beer Works is only a mile or so away, but you can take the subway, though I don't know if it is a direct line. You can also go on the Sam Adams brewery tour. You take the orange line (I think) and it is a couple blocks from the station. It isn't a real tour. But it isn't as bad as the Guiness tour in Dublin. I hate to admit it, but the best tour I have been on is the Bud tour up in Merrimac NH. You actually see the factory and stuff. If they could only make some beer with any flavor..

Bud making beeer with flavour? Wouldn't you miss that wonderful chemical taste[sick]!!

Ou local brewery in the Highlands of Scotland does a tour, but the brewery is just in one barn so it is really a small operation. They were quite informative and still hand bottle all their beers. They don't have a pub attached, but their bottled beers are nice and you can also get a keg and tap for parties, which is really nice. I don't know if it will be allowed to stay, but their website is www.blackislebrewery.com (or go to the obvious url for black isle brewery) and you can do a virtual brewery tour there. Unfortunately they don't seem to ship outside of Mainland UK.

We are very fortunate here as we also have many world famous whisky distelleries around and it is interesting to do their tours, although they have become more commercially orientated in the last ten years since we moved in to the area.

Need to keep searching for interesting Orlando brews/brewpubs.
