But what if the surgeon's watch slipped off during the operation, leaving behind a ticker with the old ticker?[msnsmile2]

Thank you for the advice on the insurance, when we took out the policy all they were concerned about was if my husband had angina or had had a heart attack both of which he hadn't. The problem started with him having flu, last October the virus attacking the heart. He was given drugs as though he had had a heart attack and told to rest for 3 months. After which an angoigram identified blocked arteries. He had a quadruple by pass in July. He is now back at work taking it slowly. We both consider ourselves very lucky
for without the flu he might have had an attack and not recovered.
Hence our booking of a holiday next Easter and boy do we need one!!

The only problem I can see with that situation is that the person will have some difficulty in setting the watch to the local time!

I have metal pins in my wrist after several operations and i never seem to set off the metal detectors. Shoes appear to set them off the best and now i normally take them off and put them through the x ray machine.

I have had a by-pass, and it is now 9 years ago, I have travelled all over the world, and my wires never set anything off, I have actually had them removed recently, because one of them broke and was sticking into me, like getting stabbed from within, but heres a funny thing my wife who recently had a hip replaced did set the alarm off at Orlando this time, I think they might have turned its sensitivity up, she was taken to one side and searched with a hand scanner, I always ask the Doctor for a letter which OK's me to fly, the insurance company will probaly ask for that.

Thought I would share this story--my parents just came back from Canada. My father had a stress test a couple of weeks ago, and apparently that set off some kind of radioactive detector at the border. They had to be pulled over and the car searched. When the found nothing in the car, they determined it was my father that was radioactive! Whatever they gave him for the stress test stays in the system for up to three weeks. [:O]
