Drinking, What can we get away with?

Florida State Law requires that you must be 21 to purchase, consume, or possess alcoholic beverages and, as everyone has already said, they are really strict about this, sorry.

As has already been mentioned, don't even think about drinking and driving as Florida alcohol laws are really strict too and they have a much lower blood alcohol limit than here in the UK.

Even if you're over 21 and you purchase alcohol to take back to your accommodation with you (unopened and in the boot of your car), in theory your girlfriend still cannot drink it (as in the 'consume' bit above).

There was a story a few years ago about a son or daughter taking a sip of their father's beer in a restaurant, being spotted and the father then being arrested, so be warned.

She will not be able to drink in public, it is not worth the risk, they ask for ID upto 30 most of the time.

The law says all alcohol must be put in the boot so they is no drinking inside a car not even a limo[msnsad]

I`m not sure on the rule of drinking in your own villa either if you are under 21. As a friend of our living in Orlando told us that we can get arrested for serving alcohol to a minor. Also if we serve food with alcohol in it is frowned upon, She said you can't even serve a child with a sherry trifle.

It's an extremely serious offence either buying alcohol for an under 21 or giving them alcohol that you bought, even in the privacy of your own villa. The police will not hesitate to take very strong action.
