Thread: VISA WAIVER FORM

    VISA WAIVER FORM

I read in one of the Sunday papers yesterday that you are required to provide the address you'll be staying at on the visa waiver form you fill in on the plane (even if you are fly-drive you need to have the first nights address). It also stated that some airlines require the information before you fly as well (not sure if this applies to package/charter holidays or just scheduled flights).

Although I'm staying in one place when I go next July, I won't know the address until I get to Sanford.

Has anyone come across this problem before and if so any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks

If you are staying in a villa, the owner usually supplies the address when the full rental is paid.

I've not heard of Airlines requiring a full address beforehand, but it may be a new security precaution. Of course, you will need to enter the address in the forms provided on the plane.

Nostromo, Sometimes if the villa is booked with a tour operator you get allocated accomodation on arrival. [msnsmile2]

Don't know what you would put on the form though.[msnsmile]

In that case, perhaps visitors can mention the tour operator in question and give their address? The authorities can then track the passenger down (if necessary) through the operator.

I recall when we went on a last minute flights only with Britannia last October they were telling passengers who booked a villa with them and thus did not know the address until arrival to put the Britannia offices in Orlando down as the address.

    Sounds like a fair suggestion.

Does someone want to put in what exactly VISA WAIVERS FORMS and what theyre for. there are people looking in on this site that are bewildered by all of this florida talk, i remember when we first went to florida in 02, we didnt understand about disney hopper passes. the different parks, visas and all sorts, i dont understand it all enough to put it into writing, having done it once got an idea, but to first timers they may be wondering what your talking about...........

Thanks for the ideas - It is accomodation on arrival (Florida Townhouse in Kissimmee area). I might contact the tour operator a couple of weeks before we go and see if they're able to give me an address (would also help with driving directions!).

LiesaAnna - a Visa Waiver Form is usually handed out on the plane and you fill it in before you get to passport control in the US (I think it allows you to stay for 30 days) - certain people are unable to use this due to criminal records etc (other posts will explain this in more detail) and need to get a Visa for the American Embassy in London.

On our flight 16/9 during the film they usually show (at least twice) to show you how to complete the forms, they gave an address for anyone who did not have a first night address. But then it did not fit in the spaces - they always warn you to not squeeze letters in where there are no spaces - so they had to advise people to miss certain parts out!

I've been five times now and every time I get panicky as it's always me who fills the forms in - but I've never had a problem yet - so it must be simple hubby says!!
