Thanks for the info lucy. There will be 3 of us travelling. I expect we WILL go Premium Economy aferall, i have been trying to find out as much as i can about Virgin and to be honest i am totally baffled [msnscared]. But, like i said previous we will go with them and make our own minds up.
So, if we do go PE is the configuration 2/3/2? Can you give me any info regarding booking certain seats when i actually book the flights??

I use the Manchester Orlando route so its not the same as the Gatwick, why dont you go on the Virgin forum heres the link...........

    http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/default.asp

My flight was 2/4/2 but my daughter came back to Gatwick and she was in the Upper Deck and it was 2/2,

My view is you should go for it and make your own mind up, I have travelled extensively both with work and pleasure and as with most big airlines it can differ from day to day, but they are a good solid and safe airline, with good training practices which are important to me. Good luck!

    Hi Angela,

There is a fantastic webpage on the v-flyer website for knowledge about Virgin seat configurations; just hover your mouse over the marked seats to see what people are saying about them. It's at: http://www.v-flyer.com/seats.asp

Someday all airlines will have this kind of thing and there won't be a bad seat to be had.

We are flying from july from manchester and have been told the new planes will be on this route. What type will the new planes be? and can we pre book seats on the new planes now? if so can we find details of the best seats on the above web site?

The new planes will more than likely be either brand new 747's, or some re-fitted ones from the Gatwick
or heathrow fleets. Whatever ones they are, they will be far better than the current manchester fleet.

You can only pre-book seats approx 130 days prior to departure date,

Once the manchester fleet has been changed, you will be able to use the above link to check out what
    seats are best

I have my tickets for my july fluights and already pre booked seats at the time of booking, but I just took whatever the operator advised. Now that I have seen this site which gives seat info I want to change them!!!!!!!! but it is no use till I know which plane will be on the MAN route in July.

I think the 30, 31, 32, 33 inch seat pitch happens because of the way the cabin lays out. Bulkheads, exit rows, doors and galleys must all be worked around when the seat layout is installed. This might lead to a non-perfect fit. If there were 10 inches left at the back of a cabin you couldn't fit an extra row of seats in but you could put an extra inch of seat pitch onto 10 rows. Things might change depending on how seats align up with windows and fixing points and things.

I guess it's just the way they fit.
