Hello all
Just arrived back in UK this morning sunny but cold, well i suppose one out of two aint badRe Key West Trip slight problem there as mentioned before we were staying in Naples this was our second choice after Fort Myers beach. Our original plan was to stay on Fort Myers beach and get the Key West ferry which is based there. This was beroe hurricane Charlie changed our plans

So we decided to drive up to Fort Myers beach to book our ferry. We found the place with no problem [website link edited]
but it was closed!!, a lady there said this was usual at this time of year as it gets a bit quiet, but i had a feeling that the recent hurricane had something to do with it.The Website has no specific mention of this so a good tip RING BEFORE YOU TURN UP! [msnwink]
Just a note on Fort Myers beach, It is a nice place (a bit touristy)but charlie has messed the place up a fair bit and I would say it will be six months before it will be back to any thing like normal.
It is strange though Fort Myers Beach has damaged roofs smashed trees and pile of sand and debris all over the place, yet 25 miles south in Naples is untouched. We noticed this all over Florida as we drove around it seem that even with a big strom the damage can be relativly localised.
We had a nice couple of days though love Naples [msnsmile2]

Thanks for that Chris. We are off shortly and I wondered how much damage there was in the area and how it had affected the tourist situation. [msnsmile2]
