i saw advertised on the wallmart website a portable dvd dual screen player for the car it said you could play dvd ps2 xbox etc it was only 274$ do you think this would work in the UK.
looked like a bargain.

Terry thinks it will be OK but wont play English stuff only American as it is unlikely to be multi-regional, so you would have to buy all the DVDs in the US as well. You would need to ask if it is multi regional or if they do these if you want to play your English DVDs,

Julie take a UK DVD and try it, lots of DVD players are now playing all regions; mostly cut price ones. If it works you know.

It isnt me buying it, Dave, its Carrie and I am guessing she is buying it online so cant try it out before buying. Thats why I said to ask, but who do you ask when buying online as they often dont answer or there is no method of asking!!

We bought one from Wal-Mart for in the car and it only plays US DVD's and I do not think a multi-region hack exists for it. Having said that, virtually all our DVD's are US ones as the UK DVD's are overpriced.

most players can now be made multi region with a crack,you can find these on line using the name and model etc for the player, in the past we have looked for this before we buy,

also make sure the tv [if tour plugging it into one] is NTSC compatable if not everything will play black and white

I bought a portable dvd player online in the UK for £165. It has a 7" screen,plays multi region dvd's, mp3's,etc. They gave me a code to type into the menu on the dvd player to make it multi region.

You can also buy a carrying case that will fit over the headrests in your car so that the kids can watch whatever they like.

You also get all the cables you need, including an adaptor to plug into your cigarette lighter,plus headphones as well.

The picture quality is fantastic.

Well worth the price.

There's an excellent 7" screen potable DVD available from Argos for £149. It comes with a car kit, case and loads of other bits, and it is multi region (via a widely available key sequence). A collegue at work has just picked one up.

Not worth the hassle of a US only player. IMO.
