    car hire extras?

Hi, just a quick question for the experts , I have booked a rental car from the forum link and took the gold option, should there be any other expenses when I get to the dollar desk like a deposit or am I totally paid up? and any extras would be dollar trying to just get more $$$ out of me. cheers Mike

P:S I know there is a driving forum but this one tends to get more readers[msnsmile]

No - you have pre-paid for everything. You can safely refuse anything they offer you (assuming you have an over-zealous sales clerk who is looking to boost their commission).

The agents are programmed to ask if you would like an upgrade for only..... Catches lots of tired people, just off the plane.

A lot of the time they ask you if you want an upgrade because they do not have any of the cars left you have booked, so they need to give you the next one up anyway.

They will also try to sell you further insurance that is covered by the normal holiday insurance you buy in UK - medical etc.

Just a note here. Not every car hire agent will try and sell you something. If you walk up to the desk confidently and look like you do this kind of thing all the time they will often just process the reservation and send you on the way without word of any sales patter.

I cannot remember the last time they tried to sell anything to me [msnsmile2]

When we picked our car up they asked us if we wanted and upgrade we said no and that was that.
