We have been nattering about this and have come up with two items we really miss:-

A New York Italian Pizza; NY is the best and the best of the best is Johns Best pizza at Mount Kisco.

Followed by but maybe not at the same feast:-

Proper New York cheese cake, though some have come close none really truly have that really heavy but light at the same time, without being creamy, and so smooth and flavourful filling on that oh so crunchy base.

    Hi Ray and Sarah

We cannot think of anything that would put us off our beloved Florida. As far as the hurricanes go - my son (teenage) thought it highly exciting and got great footage of the storm...........

    Take care

I love Mex food and would like to see the fast food outlet chain "Taco-Bell" open up all over the UK. I think it will be popular with the Brits.

I believe that there is or at least used to be one in Milton Keynes. I only know, as an American colleague got rather inebriated one night in London, decided that he needed a Taco Bell NOW, and jumped into a black cab, demanding to be taken to the nearest Taco Bell. The driver radioed in, and was told that the only one was in Milton Keynes. Being inebriated, my colleague demanded to be taken there, and flashed his money to confirm that he had enough. Final cab bill was quite a few hundred quid, so it was a very expensive Taco!

Like Emcee I used to bring home a big supply of Ranch dressing because you could not get it in the UK. Now you can, but I dont think it tastes the same.

I really love Dove washing up liquid and am surprised no one other than me has mentioned it. one day i hope it is available in the uk cos there are lots of dove products about now.

Dove deodorant in "powder" scent. It's a roll on and smells just like baby powder but cannot get it in the UK.

I'd settle for America's way with people with disabilities and their elderly folk - knocks spots of us in UK.

i'm not a fan of mustard but can't eat a hotdog at disney without covering my hotdog in their mustard. It's really tasty but quite mild. Has anyone found a similar one here?

I must agree Key Lime pie is a must have when in Florida, our friends we met in Florida have given me the receipe and the traditional way of making it so I will never be without it Also got other sourthern receipes just like the cracker barrel. But what I would like the UK to adopt from the US is the refills of soda/coffee when dining out. Restaurants in the UK make an absolute killing with us, and please make the regular size soda US SIZE PLEASE.

But when ever we go over we try and bring at least a couple of things of everything back. Maple syryp, flavoured coffee, Caramel and hazelnut yumm. Steak basting sauces. whatever takes our fancy, we have more american stuff in our cupboards than uk stuff, Husband makes a wicked american pancake in the morning. washed down with a smoothie.
