    Jeff,
I am not going to shoot you down in fact I wholeheartedly agree with you. So much so that so far I have refrained from putting games consules in my villa. I was beginning to think I shall have to though as bookings seem very thin on the ground and these things seem to bwe in great supply. I did have one guest say they had booked my villa because it did not have these items in but I think she was in the minority.

We do have a Playstation in our villa but also have supplied a range of board games. Our oldest son would rather indulge in the Playstation option but our younger son loves to play board games and cards. His Granded taught him to play poker whilst on holiday this year and he loved it, he also loves Monopoly and for some strange reason always seems to win.[msnsmile2]

hi, wouldn,t shoot you down at all, I quite agree with you but I,m afraid what we all used to do when we were kids sadly doesnt apply to todays generation[msnsad], I can remember playing cards and scrabble with my mam and dad ,tried it with my nippers and after about 30mins they are bored just not enough activity for them just like television, radio ,cinema it is down to the era you are brought up in as to how you can keep yourself amused, I only go out socialising maybe twice a month yet I know people who can,t survive without going out at least 3 times a week[msneek], different generation. But I will still get some boardgames and cards for them to play while there, will leave them in the villa when we leave, may contribute to a more interactive role between kids and parents[msnwink][msnsmile2]. cheers Mike

I'm probably going to be shot down as old fashioned but surely children played plenty of games before the invention of computers and games consoles. Good old fashion board games , cards, paper and pen games like hangman, battleship, and mind games like eye spy etc.

Think of it as a good opportunity to bond with your kids and play games with them rather than sitting them down in front of a screen. I heard of one family who stated that they had a great time together as a family and really took their minds off what was happening outside.

Many villa owners provide a selection of games etc so you do not even have to go and buy them yourself. Have a great holiday and don't worry about the kids as I'm sure even if storms do arrive they will have a great time.

Mike your a good dad willing to drag a games console with you. But I think the practicality would be the problem getting it to work with the NTSC TV. The US don't use scart & I think it would be hard to find any with an RGB or S-video ether?

Dare I suggest you may want to look for villa that already has a PS2 (lots have) and games can be rented from lots of places.
