September is the middle of the hurricane season, But this year has been particularly bad. We havent had two hit central Florida like this for 50 years. Last year there were hurricanes and all were coming here but then veered off and went somewhere else ( usually the poor old Carolinas). It is still quite hot and humid at the beginning of Sept with afternoon thunderstorms. Late Sept, it is cooling down, calming down and getting better.

James,do not forget EVERYWHERE is air conditioned. So you are only hot when you are out in the sun.
You sleep cool and therefore well;there are lots of trees and green to give shade and the earth is not dry and hard so the rays do not bounce back at you

In no way is it like summer in the med.We took someone to Florida in August who hates the heat and he was fine.

Drink plenty of water slip/slap/slop (slip on a t.shirt, slap on a hat and slop on the sunscreen)and buy a hand held water spray fan(about $5 from Walmart)

It is rare to see sunburned people in Florida;I think they are too busy enjoying themselves to lay around too much.

You have picked a perfect place for a wedding no stress and great memories. We have a group going out in November who for the price of a small wedding in England, are taking close family over for the holiday of a lifetime and getting married while they are at it! (I could have phrased that better!)

September weather in Orlando is generally good but as you say, the present situation is exceptional.

Unless you have chosen a specific September day in 2005 for the Big Event, try to keep it to the latter half of the month. Close you get to October, the more pleasant it tends to be and the chances of rainstorms are reduced.

I hope these hurricanes are not panicking people[:0]As Julie has said, these 2 are pretty bad ones and it has been a long time since they came along 2 at a time and hit Florida like that!
I thought late September was a good time[?]Cooling down, less rain, my Bro-in-law always goes in September, 3rd year running this year, but staying at our villa this timeSo it must be pretty good[8D]

Actually Heather- Julie has said it was 1950 when Florida was hit with 2 hurricanes within 3 weeks of each other.

Congratulations and all the best for your wedding. If it does rain a bit on your big day, just pretend that you are Gene Kelly and serenade your new wife with "Singin' in the Rain" [msnwink]
