At Fifth Avenue, Lake Wales. Turn off your car motor at the bottom of the steep hill, put the gear into neutral and your car will appear to roll back uphill! Now that's spooky or what?

Er, because it's there perhaps and it's a weird phenomenon but don't ask me how! That's what makes it spooky...!

Hi Blott
Sorry - I didn't mean why .... as in why would you want to do it but why does it happenand from your reply it doesn't sound like you're any wiser than me - however my 11 year old (and his mum) would find this amazing, so we may well try and find it... and give it a go....I say TRY because I can get lost driving round the estate!

Where is Lake Wales?
On 27 Angela. South of Haines. Its that big lake you pass if you are going to Bok Tower etc.

Incredibly I have discovered Spook Hill has its own website - http://historiclakewales.com/spookhill/
No explanation though - spooky!

Thanks for finding that Angela. I think everyone else thought I'd made it up (as if?)...

They had this place on the TV and it really looks like your rolling up hill. It is an optical illusion which was also used in my local pub in england. Very neat though and great when we used to get a non local in.
