Can she enter clubs at 18?

    Hi,

My friend is 18, and her partner is 21. She is worrying that while her partner will be allowed to drink and go into clubs, she will not. I realise that she will not be allowed to drink, but will she be allowed to go into clubs/pubs etc?

    Thanks,

    Sarah

Depends on the night club. Disney's pleasure island club's will allow 18 year olds in, except BET and mannequins on thursday-saturday. Check the web for universal's broadwalk + church st station area.

    Hi Sarah,

As Wilf & Sarah said, at Disney's P.I. it will vary as to which one you can get in at 18, but drinking is still 21! They are VERY hot on it too, where ever you go, no id, no drink! Don't even try it will end up spoiling your night! []
You can still have fun without the drink...honest

I was asked for ID the last time we were in Florida, and I'm 40 [:0] and although I'd like to kid myself I don't look it, I'm sure I do[msnwink] so always carry some ID if you want to buy any alcohol anywhere.

There is a newish club in Pointe Orlando called The Matrix that caters specifically for youngsters. Maybe worth checking out. Likewise, Motion in PI and The Groove in City Walk are similarly suitable for the young set. I understand that some European tourists in a similar situation as Dreijerss' friends get away with a bit of a con in some clubs with the alcohol restriction. A bit risky, but could well work. I have DMed this idea to you (Dreijeress), but assure you that it is NOT my own.

We are the same, both late twenties and we were both asked for ID when we visited Pleasure Island. I know Karen looks her age, but i do look very young, so i suppose you should laways carry ID with you even if you are over 21.

Please tell me where that was Caroline, I would pay good money for that kind of treatment

I have to say that the photo driving licences in the UK have been great for when you get "carded". I always used to think that when the only acceptable ID for UK citizens was a passport, it was not the most travel savvy place to be pulling your passport out in. AS soon as the photo ID driving licences became available we switched.

Needless to Mrs MTP has always been carded much more than I have, but on our first stay in WL I was asked for ID when liberating a couple of drinks from the bar to take back to the room (the kids had crashed) - nice, but who am I kidding with my grey hair!

BTW WL serves a great twist on a Pina Colada - it has a shot of Chambourd in it. A bit sweet for me, bit a big hit with Mrs MTP.
